Celebrating International Women’s Day at Simmtronic: Empowering Women, Embracing Progress

At Simmtronic, we believe that International Women’s Day (IWD) is not just a date on the calendar—it’s a moment to celebrate the achievements of women, acknowledge the challenges that still exist, and commit to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.

For many of our employees, IWD is a day to reflect on the progress made towards gender equality, particularly in traditionally male-dominated industries like construction and technology. We asked some of the women in Simmtronic what IWD means to them.

What does International Women’s Day mean to you?

“It’s about celebrating how far we’ve come and the incredible women I work with. It’s great that Simmtronic recognizes IWD – it shows how much we value everyone here.”

“To me International Women’s Day is a day to celebrate women, acknowledging both our achievements and the ongoing challenges we still face. It is important to me that we recognise a day like this at Simmtronic that we value and support the contributions of all employees regardless of gender, particular as Construction is such a male-dominated industry.”

What do you enjoy most about working at Simmtronic?

“It’s the people who make Simmtronic special. They’ve supported me from my early days in the workshop to now being in the office. Simmtronic is like a family.”

“I really enjoy working at a company that has such a strong sense of teamwork, with all employees wanting to work together towards the same goal. I also appreciate the collaborative/supportive work culture at Simmtronic. The leadership at Simmtronic are always open to new ideas in order not only support the growth of the company but my personal growth.”

What challenges do women still face in male-dominated industries?

“Challenges like unequal pay, lack of leadership representation, and implicit bias. Men and women need to work together to advocate for equality. One thing Simmtronic has implemented to help is with a strong maternity package, helping women to be supported when returning to work”

“We are in a male dominated industry and Simmtronic have actively promoted equal opportunity in recruitment/advancement (variety of gender and ages across all teams and roles) and have made efforts to ensure women are represented in leadership roles.”

What advice would you give to women building a career in our industry?

  • Take every opportunity to learn and grow—even if it feels outside your comfort zone.
  • Be confident in your abilities, but don’t be afraid to ask for help when needed.
  • Just go for it and be happy—Simmtronic will be there to guide you!

On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the achievements of the women at Simmtronic and look forward to continuing our work to create an inclusive and empowering workplace.

Happy International Women’s Day! 💜
