The City Tower retrofit for GPA required a smart lighting system to suit suspended tracks with high-density DALI control and integrated presence detection, all while preserving the clean architectural design.
The Challenge
As part of the office retrofit at City Tower, GPA required a modern lighting control solution that worked seamlessly with their chosen suspended track lighting system. Each track featured a combination of uplighting, downlighting, and directional spotlights, all needing independent control.
Complicating matters, each track section had a high volume of DALI control gear and an integrated cut-out for presence detection. The system not only had to perform well but also maintain a clean, minimal appearance within the architecture of the space.
OUR SOLUTION
To effectively manage the dense DALI control requirements, we deployed the SPH.248 DALI Hub, designed to support large volumes of control gear within a single network. This provided flexibility and robust communication across each lighting component.
For presence detection, the challenge was spatial, the sensor needed to be compact enough to integrate directly into the service cut-out of the track. We selected the SPU.6-L Low Profile Sensor, which fit neatly into the design while delivering reliable occupancy detection.
THE RESULT
The client now benefits from a discreet and sophisticated lighting solution. Presence detection is seamlessly integrated into the suspended track, providing smart control without compromising the aesthetic. The system delivers enhanced energy efficiency and greater user comfort across all retrofitted levels.
